Stateside entertainer Pat Finn, who was seen in popular TV shows such as Friends, Seinfeld and "The Middle", has succumbed aged 60.
The skilled improv artist died at home in Los Angeles recently having undergone treatment for cancer since 2022, per reports.
"Pat Finn never met a stranger - solely future friends he didn't know yet," his loved ones shared in a message.
They noted that he had "experienced life to the fullest - with zest and passion".
His debut TV appearance was on the George Wendt Show in 1995, where he played the titular character's brother.
He also had a recurring role on Murphy Brown in the latter half of the 1990s.
He played the part of the character Joe Mayo in the show Seinfeld in 1998, depicting a social organizer who would assign burdensome jobs to his guests.
Throughout the end of the 90s and start of the 2000s, he had guest spots on a variety of hit series, like:
He was most recognized for playing the character Bill Norwood in The Middle, featuring across eight series between 2011 and 2018.
His cinematic roles encompass It's Complicated and "Santa Paws 2".
Outside of his television work, Finn was a skilled improviser and also taught at the University of Colorado, where he was a faculty member.
He was involved with a six-person improv troupe called Beer Shark Mice.
"Finn taught, supported, and inspired countless students during his career and it would be difficult to find a person anywhere who has an unkind word to say about him," his family wrote.
Paying homage, fellow actor Richard Kind said there was "not a more kind, gentle, or funny, grounded individual you could encounter".
"Perpetually optimistic, helping you be funnier and better. An excellent dad and person," he shared publicly.
Pat Finn is survived by his wife Donna, his children, and his family.
