"All New York residents has the right to reside free from terror," the attorney general declared in a statement.
"Anyone who observed and captured federal operations yesterday, I ask you to submit that evidence with the authorities. We are committed to examining these submissions and determining any wrongdoings."

The Manhattan operation, which witnesses say included dozens of federal agents, took place in a well-known district of the city where fake handbags, accessories, jewelry and additional items are commonly traded in large quantities – frequently to tourists.

In a news conference featuring the rights organization, the congressman, a lawmaker, stated that four American citizens were taken by federal agents for about 24 hours and that there were "no circumstances where US citizens should be taken for unjustly." He said the individuals were freed on Wednesday with no legal action taken.
"The intent is obvious here. It is not to take criminals off the street," Goldman remarked. "This is a military-style operation to incite tension. It is simply a excuse to provoke conflict for this administration to bring in the troops to halt unrest that they themselves caused."
Outrage over the ICE raid rapidly grew – all three mayoral candidates criticized the incident, along with NY's governor.
"Once again, the federal government chooses heavy-handed tactics that create fear, rather than security. It needs to cease," a contender declared.
The city's community groups voiced concern too.
"Federal officers raided Chinatown in NYC with armored transports, covered personnel and riot gear to go after street vendors working to survive. This operation had no connection to citizen protection and everything to do with frightening communities and communities," stated the president of a major immigrant coalition.
Agency rules forbids the holding of citizens and the agency has claimed it does not apprehend citizens. However, external research has revealed that over 170 US citizens have been detained unlawfully by immigration authorities since the start of the present government.
Immigration operations have been rising in frequency in New York and across the US lately.
An October operation in the city center was the first known raid on an immigrant shelter of the present government. Demonstrations opposing ICE are commonplace along with claims of aggression and inhumane treatment.
