Orbital Pictures Indicate Iran's Naval Forces and Nuclear Sites Struck by Joint US and Israeli Military Action.

Multiple US and Israeli strikes has reportedly destroyed or damaged a minimum of eleven Iranian naval vessels starting the weekend, freshly analyzed satellite images demonstrate, with rocket sites and atomic facilities also coming under fire.

Images of the southerly Konarak naval naval base and the Bandar Abbas port installation, which overlooks the Strait of Hormuz and is home to the main command of the Iran's naval force, depict black smoke pouring from a number of vessels on the start of the week.

Maritime Assets Incurred Significant Losses

Included in the ships sunk was the Makran, Iran's most sizable ship which had been used as a drone carrier. Orbital photos indicated dark plumes emanating from the ship which had been docked at the Bandar Abbas naval base.

Analytical reports state that no fewer than a quintet of warships at the port were "struck or destroyed". Photos of the south end of the port show plumes ascending from the IRINS Makran, while additional ships seem to be impacted, with one visibly ablaze.

Over at the Konarak base, images reveal several stricken ships, with expert review identifying strikes against six ships. Pictures taken on Monday also indicate that several facilities at the installation have been destroyed.

"For many years the Iran's leadership has harassed commercial vessels," an American commander stated. "At present, there is not a single vessel from Iran underway in the Persian Gulf, Hormuz Strait or Gulf of Oman, and we will continue."

Some ships allegedly destroyed may have been obscured in aerial photos by haze or plumes, or struck at sea, and have not been independently verified. Additional information indicated that a ship from Iran was sinking near Sri Lanka's territorial waters, resulting in a search and rescue mission.

Rocket Bases and Nuclear Locations Hit

The destruction of Iran's rocket sites and the hindering of nuclear weapons development were stated as further objectives of the offensive. Aerial imagery also showed impacts against the southern Khorgu and north-western Tabriz missile facilities, and at the Konarak air base, where weapons bunkers and fortifications were hit.

Over at the Choqa Balk-e unmanned aircraft site to the west of the city of Kermanshah, extensive destruction was identified to storage buildings, bunkers and UAV launching apparatus.

Damage was also noted at a surveillance station at the Zahedan airbase in eastern Iran, near the frontier with neighboring nations.

Of particular note, the latest wave of attacks have reportedly targeted facilities at the Natanz complex – considered at the center of the country's atomic program. The UN's atomic energy body said that the damaged structures were used for access to the facility's below-ground enrichment facility and that "no nuclear fallout" was expected.

Broader Consequences and Analysis

Observers indicated that the strikes appeared to have "largely neutralized" the Iranian navy's capability to sustain traditional warfare using its most significant vessels. But, it was stressed that Tehran retains the option to launch asymmetric warfare at sea through the use of drones, mini-submarines and its so-called "shadow fleet" of oil ships.

The full extent of the damage caused to Iranian military infrastructure is still uncertain, with attacks reportedly persisting. Pictures also indicates considerable destruction to the main offices of the Iran's Revolutionary Guards in the city of Tehran.

A large number of non-military structures also appear to have been struck in the capital and across Iran since the conflict escalated. Casualty figures from local officials indicate that a high number of non-combatants may have been lost their lives in the attacks.

With the conflict ongoing, analysis of aerial photographs will carry on to document the changing military landscape.
