Slot Maintains He Is Safe and Has The Club's Support Following PSV Eindhoven Defeat

Arne Slot acknowledged that it's expected for questions to be raised about his future after another heavy defeat versus PSV Eindhoven.

The Reds endured their 9th loss in 12 matches, marking the team's poorest run after being demoted in 1953-54.

“I'm confident, I am OK, I have got significant support from management,” Slot remarked.

“It would be nice to reverse this trend and get a victory naturally but when you're working as a coach and not doing well then it's typical that questions are asked.”

He noted, “I am OK with my position. This isn't the first time I've found myself in a challenging situation but it is about time that we improved our results.”

Conversations with Liverpool Hierarchy

When asked to provide details on his dialogues with the team officials, the head coach revealed:

“We talk a lot. They are helpful to the team and to me and we have those conversations but they don’t call me all the time of the day to say they back me.”

He further stated, “In the normal discussions I feel the trust. However I haven’t spoken to them since this game yet so it remains to be seen.”

Recurring Failings and Squad Reaction

The manager expressed regret over familiar weaknesses from his squad in their Champions League loss, specifically poor finishing and defensive lapses.

Meanwhile, player Jones was blunter in his evaluation of the current crisis.
