The British government is ready to advance with utilizing the total value of frozen Russia's assets to support the Ukrainian war effort, PM Sir Keir Starmer has announced.
In a shared declaration, the officials of the United Kingdom, the French Republic, and the Federal Republic of Germany emphasized that this coordinated action would escalate tension on Moscow's head Vladimir Putin and urge Moscow to participate in talks.
They added that the initiative would be carried out in close cooperation with the America.
United Kingdom sanctions have immobilized over £25bn of Russia's funds since Russia launched its comprehensive attack against Ukraine in 2022. However, until now, resources sent to the Ukrainian government using Russian holdings had only been sourced from profits and interest accrued on them.
Sir Keir told President Volodymyr Zelensky that the United Kingdom, the French Republic, and the Federal Republic of Germany were aligned in their goal to push forward toward employing the complete amount of the frozen Russian sovereign assets to conclude the conflict.
He stated that more measures soon would heighten the tension on Russia.
This announcement follows European Union representatives convened in the Danish capital recently to debate employing frozen Russia's assets for a 140-billion-euro loan to Ukraine.
Last month, President Donald Trump encouraged international partners to seize or utilize frozen Russia's holdings, as reported by media sources.
The value of immobilized Russian funds in the EU is estimated to be approximately €211bn.

Russia carried out widespread aerial attacks all over Ukraine on recently, leading to electricity outages in significant regions of Kyiv, the city, and eight other regions.
Two people were killed and at least 20 people were injured in the strike, authorities in Ukraine stated.
In a post on X after the strike, Zelensky commented that the cynical and calculated attack focused on public and utility structures.
"What is required is not just talk but firm measures - from the US, Europe, and the seven nations - in delivering air defence systems and implementing penalties," he emphasized.
"Each restrictive measure undermines the Russian war effort," Zelensky noted, in a different message.
Also on Friday, Zelensky informed media outlets he would urge Sir Keir to enter the PURL programme, under which partner nations purchase military equipment from the United States to provide to the Ukrainian forces.
While commending the United Kingdom's consistent assistance for Kyiv, he said it should demonstrate clearly that it would take part in the system, as well as apply further sanctions on Moscow.
